Pasta Bowl Annual Fiction Anthology Contest Now Accepting Manuscripts!
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES...
...Writers of short fiction are encouraged to enter the Pasta Bowl Annual Fiction Anthology competition to compete for their spot on our first publication, set for March 2011. The literary competition is open to all US and international writers whose fiction has not appeared in a nationally distributed publication with a circulation of 5,000 or more. Writers who have been published on-line or have self-published are considered on an individual basis. This competition is looking for the unpublished author.
You must be 18 or older to enter.
The first place winner will win $1,000.00, receive a published credit to their name, as well as have the option to be a part of Pasta Studio's staple of authors.
Second through fifth place winners receive a published credit to their name, as well as have the option to be a part of Pasta Studios staple of authors.
Judges will also award honorable mentions to other entrants whose work demonstrates promise.
To be eligible for the 2010 competition, stories must be original unpublished fiction, typed and double-spaced, and they may not exceed 4,000 words in length. The only theme restriction we have is, no Romance stories. All other genre's are acceptable. Writers' names should not appear on the stories, and manuscripts will not be returned. Copyright remains the property of the author.
Please submit the story in a text (.txt) format (we prefer Microsoft Word) as an attachment via email to: pastastudio@gmail.com
Each story should be accompanied by a cover sheet with:
1. the writer's name 2. birth date 3. complete address 4. e-mail address 5. phone number 6. title of the piece 7. synopsis 8. word count
The entry fee is $5 for each story submitted by November 1, 2010. Entries postmarked after November 1, 2010 will not be accepted for the 2010 competition, but, at the author's discretion, can request that it be submitted for the 2011 competition. Click here to pay.
The entry fee must be in the form of a Pay Pal account. Writers can submit multiple entries in the same email, but each must be accompanied by a separate entry fee and separate cover sheet.
Winners will be announced at the end of March 2010 at our website here. All entrants will receive a letter from Jesse Spinella and a list of winners, either via regular mail or e-mail, by April 30, 2011.
